Make your home lively- grow a balcony garden !

March 5 2016

Living in the city shouldn't deter you from indulging in some gardening. Balcony gardening doesn't take up much space and makes your home look super pretty. Besides, it's a gratifying hobby where you show your plants some love and they reward you with fresh air and soothing ambience.

Here are some pointers to help you grow a balcony garden!

1. Make the right choice!

Gauge the microclimate of your balcony. Step outside to take note of how sunny, shady, cool or windy it is. Choose your plants accordingly. Your local plant shop will help you make the right decision as they won't stock anything that can't survive in local weather.

2. Wind-Breaker

High-rise apartments have a lot of wind blowing in that may affect the health of your plants. Protect them with correct placement and place heavier pots that won't be blown down. Water them regularly to prevent them from drying.

3. Space It Out!

Having a smaller space doesn't imply you have fewer plants. Utilize vertical space by hanging baskets and pots in which you could grow plants that dangle down. These planters sure will heighten the appeal of your high-rise balcony!

4. Herbalicious

Growing herbs serves the dual purpose of requirement and space. Herbs like Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, take little time to grow and can serve as garneshing for your recipies! Include fresh herbs in your food and begin a healthy diet.

5. A Dash of TLC

Tend to your plants regularly. Keep pests at bay, by growing plants like marigold and nasturtium. Use organic spray repellents to prevent an infestation and don't forget to water your thirsty little ones!

So, prepare your gorgeous personal space, put up a chair, kick back and enjoy the fruits (quite literally) of your hard work!

First of all I would like to thank  you  and the Gera team for organizing different workshops at our doorstep.
The best thing I have done to my kids is that I  took a right decision to buy a flat in Gera.
Because of this decision , Vishnu could attend  the development workshops that were conducted.
Vishnu was a shy child who didn't like to participate in any of the programmes.
As far as Dale Carnegie workshops is concerned   it  has given him a lot of confidence and was presenting things in a much better way and I can see a lot of improvement in him.In simple words u made a person(..

My son Tattva had been enrolled in the intermediate level and has been coached by the Vishwanathan Anand Chess Academy coach . Tattva has made remarkable strides and will be on his way to get his FIDE rating in November. A lot of credit goes to the mentor for his unique way of handling his students. He has been very patient while working with Tattva on his areas of improvement. In addition before the tournament the coach had voluntarily added additional classes and doubled his efforts to get a better performance out of Tattva. He has shown complete ownership which is commendable. I hope he continues to develop more and more chess players in the coming days.
