India Developer eyes young investors Rs 750m project in Pune is designed keeping in mind the safety of children

Pune based Gera Developments is targeting young investors for its latest project – the Emerald City . Decribed as a child-centric development, the city’s design keeps in mind the safety and convenience of the young.

But that is not to say the adults have been ignored.  Located in Kharadi, a small town near Pune, Western India, Emerald City is within close proximity to the city’s railway station and about 4 kms from the airport.  

With its academic institutions and malls, Kharadi aims to be among the list of desired residential destinations in Pune alongside Koregaon Park , Kalyani nagar and Viman Nagar.  

Emerald City , deriving its name from the all – time favorite The Wizard of Oz, is being built at a cost of  Rs 750 million. It will have three towers in Phase I and four towers in Phase II, which will together comprise 420 units. It will be split into two - and three – bedroom formats.

Price range from Rs 1.8 million for a two – bedroom to Rs 2.6 million for a three – bedroom. The project is scheduled for completion in 2007.

Rohit Gera, Executive Director, “We want our buyers to enjoy safety for their children, convenience and comfort when they buy our premium homes. Based on the response we received on the launch of our Child – Centric project in Baner, we decided to introduce a similar project in Kharadi.”

Special Features :

  • Safety Features for the child at Emerald City included rounded corners and child – safe   switches in apartments, low – level elevated door sensors, fire proof wires and safety gates at each staircase to prevent accidents.
  • It provides connecting doors to the children’s room from the parents bedroom.
  • A special feature is that it will have a ‘ no vehicle zone ’ or a specific drop off zone. Vehicles can drive directly into an underground parking lot.

There are separate playground for toddlers and other children. The development will also provide Music Rooms, study areas  for  tuitions, indoor game facilities on alternate floors and a telescope to promote astronomy.
