Should developers offer warranty on properties? Yes, they must, as far as my  judgement goes. The cover story on this issue in RP July has done a wonderful job by analyzing it from every aspect. 

Gera Developments is a pioneer in this respect and the interview with Kumar Gera is revealing. Equally so is the box story titled 'West Bengal Shows The Way.' In fact the whole exercise is thoroughly comprehensive and builds up a convincing case for furnishing a warranty which is bound to increase the credibility of a builder. Look at the various Perspective, Understanding Home Warranties, Global Trends, Buyer's Checklist and Central law for 2 year mandatory warranty. The entire thing assumes the proportion of a mini-textbook on the subject. Bravo
